Welcome to the Naxos Life website
Naxos Life is a monthly magazine in the English language published for the international community living on the islands of Naxos, Amorgos and the Small Cyclades and for frequent visitors and the ever-growing number of homeowners from abroad. Naxos Life began circulation in May 2005, based on the successful model of its sister publication Paros Life (see www.paroslife.com).
Naxos Life's main purpose is to serve as a means of communication for this international community and to provide information about life on these islands. The publication features a wide variety of special articles and regular columns including details of events, local festivals, namedays, useful numbers, cinema, local artists, concerts, animal welfare, recipes, timetables, classified advertisements, local history, culture and politics, poetry, wildlife and advertising features. It is, therefore, an invaluable resource to the members of this community - many of whom do not speak or understand the Greek language very well.
Although the content is not specifically directed at tourists, during the summer months we print information that is of interest to a wider audience - in particular details of cultural events that take place each year - aiming to respect and promote the unique traditional character of the islands.
We print 1,000 copies of Naxos Life during the summer months and 500 copies during the winter. It is available at outlets on Naxos and Amorgos and is mailed directly abroad to subscribers around the world, many of whom have a strong attachment to these islands which have become an extraordinarily special place for them. Unsold copies are not thrown away, but are given to local real estate agencies to give to clients interested in purchasing property in Greece and inform them about the already-existing international community. Naxos Life is published at the beginning of each month, 11 times per year (with a single issue for Dec/Jan).
