Welcome to vickipreston.com, the website for the music of Vicki Preston.
Vicki was born in Devon, England in 1958. Music was always an important influence in her life: she sang in the local church choir, played violin in her school orchestra and studied piano for 7 years. She joined the school guitar group, bought her first guitar in her early teens and began to compose songs.
Over the next 30 years, living first in London, England and then for 20 years in Greece, she belonged to a number of different amateur operatic societies and has continued to write music, many of her songs inspired by the dramatic landscape and beauty of the Greek island, Paros, where she lived permanently for 10 years. She has often played and sung publicly with visiting musicians to Paros who, together with many friends, have encouraged her to make recordings of her work. She is a member of the International Paros Art Circle (IPAC).
Since 2000 she divides her time between Paros and Toronto, Canada, where she recorded her first CD, "Perfect Timing" at the Marc Sepic Studio and Joao Carvalho Mastering in 2004/5.
Produced by Vivianne LaRivičre-Knutson, engineered by Charles (Chuck) Carvalho and mastered by Joao Carvalho, Vicki's music and lyrics are enhanced by the skilled musicianship of Vivianne (synthesizer), Mark (El Vaco) Sepic (guitars, bass, percussion) and Pierre Gallant (synthesizer) with backing vocals on “Goodbye Paros” by The Chisholm Coyotes (Vivianne, Mark, Rita di Ghent, Simone Sepic & Naomi Tyrrell).
